Alfred Eisenstaedt

Alfred Eisenstaedt was born on December 6, 1898 in Dirschau, West Prussia. He became a professional photographer in Berlin. In 1935 he immigrated to New York City, where he became one of the first four photographers hired by Life Magazine. Eisenstaedt became know world wild, Through 86 covers and 2500 assignments for life magazine. He also received numerous awards for his work such as the International understanding award for Achievement, and the photographic society of America award. Eisenstaedt was a writer and authored many books. Prestigious museums and galleries exhibit his photographs all over the world and today Alfred Eisenstaedt is know as the father of photojournalism. I chose Alfred Eisenstaedt as my photographer because something about his photographs grab me and brought me back in time. His pictures actually influenced me to start up some of my own photographing. I admire how he can capture a picture and make it seem so natural and time less.
